Abstract:
Magnetic resonance imaging provides a sensitive technique for detection of musculoskeletal pathology. In order to optimize this information and properly characterize lesions, it is important to select carefully image parameters. Patient selection criteria are also important due to the strength of magnetic fields used for magnetic resonance imaging. These factors must be clearly understood when determining if magnetic resonance imaging is the most appropriate examination for a given musculoskeletal problem.
