Abstract:
Accelerated baccalaureate nursing programs provide many benefits to students, faculty, nursing educational institutions, and health care institutions. Students, faculty, and nursing program administrators also face a variety of challenges with accelerated programs. This article reviews what is known about accelerated programs, strategies undertaken during the start-up of a new program to enhance its success, and evaluation of the new program. In addition, implications for future research and nursing education are discussed.
