Shielding parenteral nutrition from light: does the available evidence support a randomized, controlled trial?

Protecting total parenteral nutrition (TPN) from light did not reduce bronchopulmonary dysplasia or death in preterm infants. Partial photoprotection of TPN offers no clinical benefit and may waste resources.
