Revising the health care system: over 2,000 opinion leaders speak out

MetLife commissioned Louis Harris and Associates to conduct a survey of more than 2,000 influential health care leaders. The survey compared the views of these "stakeholders" on how to reform the U.S. health care system, and ascertain how much they were willing to accommodate and compromise among themselves in order to achieve viable changes. A major finding was that not only did these leaders view reform as necessary, they also saw it as likely. The survey found that there was widespread support for the concept of universal access and that large proportions of each of the nine stakeholder groups believed that their own group should be flexible in order to reach common ground for an improved health care system.
