    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel 3.5 mm radial transverse incision for sutureless cataract surgery.
    • To assess the impact of this technique on postoperative corneal astigmatism.
    • To determine the visual recovery rate following this surgical approach.

    Main Methods:

    • A 3.5 mm radial transverse incision technique was employed in 124 patients undergoing phacoemulsification and small incision lens implantation.
    • Exclusion criteria included eyes with prior pathology, >2 diopters of corneal astigmatism, and lenses >22 diopters.
    • Astigmatism was measured using the Cravy method at follow-up intervals up to three months.

    • Postoperative astigmatic change was less than 1.5 diopters at three months.
