Abstract:
The most common male hormonal change related to aging is the decrease of testosterone production by the testicle. It is, however, subject to large individual variation and the testicular hormonal function remains normal in the majority of aging men. It is important that the attending physician can reliably diagnose the need for testosterone replacement therapy, is aware of alternative forms of therapy, and recognizes the actual effects and risk factors of hormone replacement therapy.
