Artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) are recommended for uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria. Dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine demonstrates effectiveness comparable to other ACTs, while amodiaquine plus sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine falls below WHO standards in parts of Africa.
