Summary

Maximal treadmill endurance tests in mice show poor repeatability due to high intra-mouse variability. However, voluntary wheel running (WR) measurements demonstrate high consistency and stability within individual mice, indicating reliable assessment of physical activity.

  • Voluntary physical activity (WR) was measured by distance, duration, and speed; WR measurements on days 5 and 6 in a large cohort (n=739) were compared.
