Grapefruit juice interaction with oral budesonide: equal effect on immediate-release and delayed-release formulations

Grapefruit juice (GFJ) significantly increases budesonide bioavailability by inhibiting CYP3A activity. This interaction doubles drug levels, regardless of whether budesonide is in an extended-release or plain capsule formulation.
