1Gacheon University Gil Medical Center.- U-Healthcare Center, Korea.
Abstract:
The study aims to address issues to be considered when applying ubiquitous technologies to hospital management. First, it is imperative to consider information policy at home and abroad and standardization trends. Secondly, hospitals need to come up with an integrated and flexible plan based on their strategies to adopt ubiquitous technologies. Thirdly, the effects of new IT technologies on the entire system and the creditability of hospital should be considered as well. Fourthly, the medical system and economic climate of the nation should be considered. The health-care industry is characterized by high labour costs, and IT technology is adopted to improve efficiency. Fifthly, the business aspects of hospital management should be considered. Lastly, the adoption of ubiquitous technologies cannot be the objective. It is important to pursue the most possible plan to realize the core objectives of strategic activities set by hospital.
