Summary

Rats learned associations between compound stimuli and outcomes. When one element was later conditioned negatively, compounds sharing that element elicited more fear, supporting connectionist models of cue learning.

  • To test a connectionist analysis of AEDC using compound stimuli in rats.
  • To investigate how revaluation of configural units affects fear responses.
