Time-frame transformation for efficient simulation of chirped pulse compression in an optical fiber

Abstract:
We propose an illustrate the use of a compressed time frame to reduce significantly the computational effort when simulating strong compression of chirped pulses in a nonlinear optical fiber. Using a lenslike transformation we can accurately simulate a 3-order-of-magnitude pulse compression with 128 time grid points only.

Propagation Speed of Electromagnetic Waves
Electromagnetic waves are consistent with Ampere's law. Assuming there is no conduction current Ampere's law is given as:
Reconstruction of Signal using Interpolation
Signal processing techniques are essential for accurately converting continuous signals to digital formats and vice versa. When a continuous signal is sampled with a period T, the resulting sampled signal exhibits replicas of the original spectrum in the frequency domain, spaced at intervals equal to the sampling frequency. To handle this sampled signal, a zero-order hold method can be applied, which creates a piecewise constant signal by retaining each sample's value until the next sampling...
