THE EFFECT OF HEMOLYTIC SUBSTANCES ON WHITE CELL RESPIRATION.
Certain substances that lyse red blood cells also cause cytolysis in white blood cells by reducing their oxygen consumption. This effect is dose-dependent and similar to how these substances interact with red cells.
