Modification of the rotation-advancement principle in cleft lip repair

Of all the methods for the repair of unilateral cleft lip, none has gained as much popularity as the rotation-advancement procedure. However, the medical community is dissatisfied with the result of Millard's original principle, one of which is the deficient length of the repaired philtral column. A modification of the back cut was made to lengthen it, and reason for further rotation was to maintain the symmetry of the Cupid's bow. A releasing incision was also made for the same reason. We report another simple modification to correct the incomplete cleft lip to lengthen the lip.
