Abstract:
The conclusions from this campaign are that the mix of media (television-radio) publicity reached all age groups attracting a good response to the specific smear test clinics and to general practitioners during normal consulting. The campaign demonstrated that if co-ordination is good, general practitioners can provide an effective health screening service. The favourable public relations aspect can only be beneficial to the profession's standing in the community.
