Summary

A rare case of encephalitis lethargica in a child, presenting with Parkinsonian symptoms after a measles infection, showed a full recovery. This challenges the typically poor prognosis for such childhood neurological conditions.

  • These symptoms emerged two weeks following an acute exanthem, suggestive of a post-infectious process.

  • Diagnostic investigations confirmed an elevated measles antibody titer in the patient's serum.
  • The patient experienced a complete recovery from the encephalitis lethargica-like illness.
