Abstract:
A diffraction cell diffractofurnace for a vertical axis goniometer, permitting the recording of the diffraction patterns of neutrons of polycrystalline solids from 0 degrees to 120 degrees (2theta), was designed for the study of oxides at high temperature under their equilibrium atmosphere. An example is given of the diffraction pattern of cubic iron (II) oxide or wiustite.
