Genetic variations in the ELAC2 gene, specifically the Ser217Leu and Ala541Thr polymorphisms, are linked to an increased risk of prostate cancer. These findings suggest ELAC2 variants may serve as low-penetrance markers for prostate cancer susceptibility.
