Changes in the annual incidence of the 6/second spike and wave pattern

Data are presented showing changes in the annual incidence of the 6/second spike and wave pattern. Peaks occurred in 1958-1967, followed by a decreasing incidence; the possibility is discussed that these changes could be in part related to changes in the incidence of infection, especially measles.
