Background:

    Conclusions:

    • Novice echocardiographers can successfully produce adequate quality cardiac images with the PE device.
    • The PE enables accurate ejection fraction quantification by both novice and experienced users across diverse patients.
    • The PE's portability and low cost can significantly increase access to bedside echocardiography for cardiovascular assessments.
