[About the state of iron in biological systems]
Abstract:
The magnetic properties of albumen systems of plant and animal origin (more than 150) have been investigated by Mossbauer spectroscopy, magnetometry, and (in control experiments) X-ray diffractometry. It was found that characteristic of the process of iron accumubation in albumen systems is the tendency to form structure units based on iron oxyhydroxides and to form regions of magnetic ordering.
