Improvement of human interferon alpha secretion by Lactococcus lactis

A synthetic pro-peptide enhanced human interferon alpha 2b (IFN) secretion in Lactococcus lactis by 2.8-fold. Using a different signal peptide increased secretion 3-fold but reduced overall production, though bioactivity remained appropriate.
