Summary
A modified retrograde suction technique effectively ligated a large ophthalmic artery aneurysm. This method, using a balloon catheter for internal carotid artery occlusion, facilitated aneurysm dissection and clipping.
Area of Science:
- Neurosurgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Cerebrovascular Disease
Background:
- Ophthalmic artery aneurysms present significant surgical challenges.
- Traditional ligation techniques can be complex and carry risks.
