Town and gown unite in collaborative program
Abstract:
This paper describes a program of collaboration in undergraduate medical education between McMaster University Medical School and a large group of community-based family physicians. These physicians, despite personal inconveniences, accept medical students in their offices for several hours each week. The unique aspect of this program is its self-running nature with minimal faculty involvement. A survey conducted to evaluate the program reveals a high degree of satisfaction amongst the physicians.
