Ticagrelor, a novel P2Y12 receptor antagonist, offers rapid and sustained antiplatelet effects for coronary artery disease (CAD). Clinical trials show ticagrelor significantly reduces mortality from cardiovascular events, myocardial infarction, and stroke with a favorable safety profile.
