Relationship between elevated platelet volume and saphenous vein graft disease

Mean platelet volume (MPV) is higher in patients with saphenous vein graft (SVG) disease after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. This suggests MPV may serve as a marker for long-term graft success.

- Increased platelet volume, indicated by higher MPV, appears to play a role in the development of late SVG disease.
- MPV may function as a valuable post-operative biomarker for assessing the success and long-term patency of saphenous vein grafts.
