Pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1a (PHP1a) patients do not show reduced bone mineral density (BMD) despite high parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels. Total body BMD is actually higher than normal in these individuals.

- Total body BMD is significantly elevated in individuals with PHP1a.
- These findings challenge the assumption of low bone density in PHP1a due to PTH resistance.
