The integration of theoretical concepts with practical application in nursing is crucial for enhancing patient care.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore the integration of the caring act of touch with reflection on caring theory in elderly care nursing.
To understand how combining a specific caring act with theoretical reflection impacts nurses' practice and awareness.

Main Methods:

A 6-month qualitative study involving seven nurses in elderly care as coresearchers.
Participants engaged in 'Rhythmical Embrocation' (a caring act) and reflective dialogues on caring theory.
Qualitative interviews were conducted at the study's conclusion to evaluate the experience.

Main Results:

Nurses reported an "opening of awareness" and "embodied moments of presence."
Participants demonstrated an "extended ability to act creatively in caring."
The study highlighted the synergistic movement between caring theory and practice.

Conclusions:

Integrating specific caring acts with theoretical reflection can deepen nurses' understanding of their own capabilities.
This approach fosters enhanced praxis development and expands nurses' perception of their caring abilities.
