Attenuating the haptic horizontal-vertical curvature illusion

Blindfolded subjects experienced a horizontal-vertical illusion with haptic curves, overestimating vertical extent. This tactile illusion was reduced by bimanual exploration at the body midline, suggesting its importance for spatial judgments.
