Abstract:
Due to a lack of sufficient knowledge of geriatrics, nurses working in other speciality departments are often poorly equipped when faced with certain elderly patients in particular those who are agitated or confused. These deficiencies can result in unsuitable treatment or even mistreatment. Continuing training and using mobile geriatrics liaison teams can help to foster the quality care and positive treatment of hospitalised elderly people.
