Alpha-L-rhamnose inhibits immune suppression. Researchers identified rhamnose-specific receptors on human CD8+ T cells and isolated novel rhamnose-binding fractions (RBF) that suppress lymphocyte DNA synthesis and B cell immunoglobulin production.
