    • Tolerant macrophages exhibited reduced necrosis and apoptosis following sepsis challenge.
    • LPS-tolerant mice showed significantly lower mortality rates.

    Conclusions:

    • LPS tolerance selectively reprograms gene expression pathways related to cell death.
    • This reprogramming confers protection against sepsis-induced macrophage death.
    • LPS tolerance enhances survival rates in a polymicrobial sepsis model, highlighting a potential therapeutic strategy.
