Abstract:
One hundred and fifty-three cases of cervical carcinoma treated with surgery in our hospital from 1959 to 1987 are reported. Of them, 113 (73.9%) cases had Stage I and 40 (26.1%) Stage II lesions. Pathologically, 142 cases had squamous cell carcinoma, 10 adenocarcinoma and 1 adenosquamous carcinoma. One case was operated with Schauta's method per vagina. 152 cases were operated per abdomen with Wertheim's method (28 cases) and Wertheim-Meig's method (124 cases). In this series, the follow-up rate was 92.8%. The 5 and 10 year survival rates were 87.6% and 84.3%, respectively.
