Abstract:
This article explains one community's efforts to decrease infectious diseases in their community through a proactive approach among the homeless population. Due to the frequency with which the homeless population interfaces with other community members, it is time that infectious disease management among the homeless be incorporated into settings where the homeless population accesses services. Home health nurses can be the link to the community's efforts to develop and deliver infection control programs for the homeless population.
