[Ultrastructure of renal cell carcinoma (RCC)]

The ultrastructural characteristics of 30 cases of RCC, (including 16 clear, 7 granular, 1 spindle and 6 mixed RCC) were compared. There was no difference in biological behavior between clear, granular and spindle RCC, except for the contents of lipid, glycogen and mitochondria. It was considered that the degree of ultrastructural differentiation may be helpful in evaluating the prognosis.
