Method for the design and simulation of progressive addition spectacle lenses

    Abstract:

    A method is described for designing and simulating progressive addition spectacle lenses where the lens design is based on concepts used in single-vision lenses. The computer program based on this method has been found useful for teaching purposes.

    Light rays enter the eye through the cornea, a transparent dome-shaped tissue that is the eye's outermost layer. The cornea bends or refracts, light rays traveling to the pupil.
