Prolonged high-dose isoflurane for refractory status epilepticus: is it safe?

High-dose isoflurane for refractory status epilepticus may cause neurotoxicity. Two patients showed brain MRI abnormalities, including thalamic and cerebellar T2 signal hyperintensity, which resolved after stopping isoflurane.
