Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (7vPCV) significantly reduced invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) in non-Indigenous Australians. The 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (23vPPV) also showed effectiveness, particularly in older adults.
