A rare case of endometriosis presenting as a scar tumor after cesarean delivery was observed. This ectopic endometrial tissue in the skin exhibited cyclical changes mirroring the menstrual cycle.

Background:

Endometriosis is a condition where endometrial-like tissue grows outside the uterus.
Cutaneous endometriosis is a rare manifestation, often associated with surgical scars like cesarean sections.

Observation:

A 32-year-old patient developed an asymptomatic tumor at a prior cesarean scar.
The tumor showed cyclical variations in size, color, and consistency with the menstrual cycle.
No history of bleeding from the tumor was reported.

Findings:

Dermatopathologic examination confirmed ectopic endometrial glandular tissue within the reticular dermis.
The entire thickness of the dermis was involved by the endometrial tissue.
This confirms a diagnosis of cutaneous endometriosis at the cesarean scar site.
