Cardiovascular-associated disease in an addicted population: an observation study

Substance abuse patients may experience QT interval prolongation, but it is not a negative prognostic marker. Regular ECGs and multidisciplinary care are recommended for monitoring cardiac health in this population.

- QT interval prolongation is not a negative prognostic indicator in addicted patients, even with comorbidities.
- ECG monitoring is crucial, especially when patients use multiple QT-prolonging drugs.
- Regular blood tests and ECGs, alongside multidisciplinary team follow-up, are recommended for substance abuse patients.
