Thyroid hormone therapy modulates hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis

Thyroid hormone therapy influences the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Both hypothyroidism and subclinical hyperthyroidism cause adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) hypersensitivity to human corticotropin-releasing hormone (hCRH).
