Summary

A new diagnostic algorithm using four serum markers accurately identifies ectopic pregnancy with 99% accuracy. This multi-marker test improves upon individual marker limitations for early pregnancy complications.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess multiple serum biomarkers for ectopic pregnancy identification.
  • To determine which biomarkers can be optimally combined for diagnostic accuracy.
  • To develop and validate a multi-marker algorithm for ectopic pregnancy diagnosis.

  • A case-control study involving 100 ectopic and 100 intrauterine pregnancy cases.
  • Analysis of 12 serum biomarkers using sera from first-trimester pregnancies.

  • This multi-marker approach offers a more reliable method for distinguishing ectopic from intrauterine pregnancies.
