Tissue oxygen saturation and outcome after cardiac surgery

Reduced muscle tissue oxygen saturation during cardiac surgery may indicate poor postoperative recovery. Monitoring oxygen saturation can help identify patients at higher risk for complications after surgery.

- Further research is required to validate these findings.
- Investigating interventions to optimize oxygen delivery and consumption balance is warranted to improve both saturation and patient outcomes.
