The limit of detection (LOD) is the smallest amount of analyte that can be distinguished from the background noise. To introduce a rigorous and computationally efficient methodology for optimizing SD arrangements in DOT.
To enhance the sensitivity and noise resistance of DOT measurements through optimized SD configurations.

The study employs Cramer-Rao lower bound analysis, integrating a diffusion-forward model and a noise model.
The methodology quantifies the performance of SD arrangements by estimating lower bounds of standard variances for reconstructed parameters.
