Levosimendan restores the positive force-frequency relation in heart failure

Levosimendan treatment improved heart function in dogs with heart failure (HF). It restored the force-frequency relation and prevented negative effects of tachycardia on cardiac performance and efficiency.

- The force-frequency relation (FFR) normally enhances myocardial performance during exercise.

- Therapeutic doses of levosimendan offer a promising strategy for improving cardiac performance in heart failure patients experiencing tachycardia.
