Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I and IGF-II protein expression in pulmonary adenocarcinoma

Abstract:
Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I and IGF-II expression was studied immunologically in tissue specimens from 120 patients with pulmonary adenocarcinoma and was correlated with patient prognosis. Multivariate analysis showed that IGF-II expression had a significant influence on prognosis. Our findings suggest that IGF-I and IGF-II play an important role in tumor progression and that IGF-II is a useful prognostic marker for pulmonary adenocarcinomas.
