  • Correlations with executive functioning and language tests were analyzed.
  • Main Results:

    • TT-NAT participants made fewer errors and detected significantly more errors than Standard NAT participants (p < .05).
    • In the TT-NAT group, error detection strongly correlated with language abilities (r = .57, p = .00).
    • In the Standard NAT group, error detection moderately correlated with both language (r = .31, p = .04) and executive functioning (r = .36, p = .02).

    Conclusions:

    • Pre-task review of steps and objects via TT-NAT shows potential for improving error monitoring in dementia.
    • This intervention has implications for the neuropsychological rehabilitation of functional impairments in dementia patients.
