[Differential treatment of chronic subdural hematoma]

Comparative analysis of the results of treatment of chronic subdural hematomas in radical and economical surgical intervention is carried out. It is shown that with the use of the authors' modified method of closed external drainage the number of complications reduces markedly, recovery occurs sooner, and the brain which had been compressed for a long time re-expands completely, in elderly and old-aged patients also.
