  • Three groups were established: Group 1 (sectional matrix, wedge, single ring), Group 2 (sectional matrix, wedge, dual rings), and Group 3 (Walser matrix).
  • PCT was measured using a tooth pressure meter, and data were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc test.
  • Main Results:

    • Group 2 (dual rings) demonstrated significantly tighter mesial and distal contacts compared to Group 1 and Group 3 (p<0.05).
    • No significant difference in mesial contact tightness was observed between Group 1 and Group 3 (p=0.993).
    • Distal contacts in Group 1 were significantly tighter than in Group 3 (p<0.001).

    Conclusions:

    • Applying sectional matrices and separation rings to both proximal surfaces before resin composite placement in MOD cavities yields tighter contacts.
    • The dual-ring technique (Group 2) appears most effective for achieving optimal PCT.
    • This finding has clinical implications for improving the quality of posterior composite restorations.
