Effect of physostigmine on plasma angiotensin converting enzyme activity in rat
1Department of Pharmacology, Howard University, Washington, D.C. 20059.
Abstract:
The effect of physostigmine on plasma angiotensin converting enzyme activity in rat was studied. Following administration of the drug (0.3 mg/kg), plasma angiotensin activity fell significantly at 45 min (P less than 0.05) and continued to decline during the course of the experiment. These data demonstrate that physostigmine inhibits plasma angiotensin converting enzyme activity in rat.
